>>I have one question: do you feel Republican politicians are not after power? And if not, what exactly are they after?

To me the current state of affairs with the election is all about power. <<

Well I don’t want to get into an argument because that could go on forever without resolution, but I will answer your question to let you know how I feel. First, the answer is sure Republicans are after power also and yes the state of the election is all about power. Now I’ll have to do some generalizing because as both Republicans and Democrats are people, there are well meaning people on both sides as well as people whose intent is, let us say, not so well meaning.

But my belief is that on the whole and generalizing - Republicans want power to be able to help the people and the country, whereas Democrats want power in able to gratify and help them. It is all related to ego. Do you want to give or receive? Democrats are going to all kinds of extremes to rig this election, not because it is what is good for the country, it is what would be good for themselves. This is the big difference.

I’ll give you one example. If Bill Clinton really cared about the country and about his party, he would have resigned after having broken the law and being caught. Actually he should have resigned just for being caught having lied directly to the nation. But no, Clinton is interested in Clinton. That is all he cares about. Let us suppose he had resigned. What would have happened? Gore would have become President and we would not even be having this discussion because he would have been a shoe in this election.
