>Hi Ed. Thanks for you good help. BMPs run fine, but JPGS don't. What is this server you speak of and where do I find it? Finally, how do I reinstall it? I'm not clear on the procedure.

A server is an app that's willing to accept responsibility for OLE-dispatched services; ie Word or WordPad take responsibility for opening/printing .DOC files. Typically, to use JPEGs in a General field, each station will need an app such as Adobe PhotoShop or PaintShopPro or other graphics editors that routinely assume the task of handling OLE-dispatched references to the JPEG - to add items, you need an app capable of writing one typically. I use Adobe PhotoShop for one site that uses embedded JPEGs - another site installed Microsoft's PictureIt! application that accompanied the Win98 Plus! Pack, I think, and is available at nominal cost. PaintShopPro is very popular and inexpensive as well, I havenot tried it to handle General fields, but I avoid General fields as much as I avoid public variables.
