>Absoultely - everyone should have had the same rights from the beginning. They did not but they do now and that is hugely good. There is slavery today. Mostly in places like Sudan where Islamic forces imprison Christian women and children and then sell them. Horrible to think that it is still very much alive in the world today.

Yes, and I think many of those same Republicans are alive today, active in their party < g >. Any chance those Republicans were elected by paper ballots that were hand counted?
