watching from the frozen North ( first snow today ! ) , I find little difference in the candidates regard for democracy and fair play!

I see Bush as pro violence ( if you don't like it, kill it ! ) and Gore too close to the previous administration!

Neither are liberals. That said, the "machine recount" seems a waste of time, as programmers we all know that program errors are repeatable! The INTENT of the voter is the issue, and that means that all the hanging chads must be examined !

Bush should have agreed to a total recount, if it's is similar to Canadian law, all the ballots are examined by both sides, and disputed ballots are examined by election officials , usually NOT from the voting district!

So a total recount by hand resolves the issue. Instead, we are led to believe that the intent of most Florida voters was to choose Gore, and Bush is the one using the bad ballots to steal a victory.
