Thank you Igor.
I'm sorry it took so long to respond - I had to have the message interpreted.
You were absolutely right that my PC did not contain the object library.
After further investigation I found that the loading sequence in which VB (5.0) then VS (6.0) and then Office2000 removes essential components for Access 97 apps being converted to Access 2000.
I then installed VB 6.0 (compatable to VS 6.0) and reloaded Office 2000 and now the conversions are successful.
