>>Deliberate? I may have accidentally put in a typo, but if you're accusing me of intentionally misleading people, well, get a life. I don't get my jollies intentionally causing people grief.

>I was not accusing you of anything. Through various other times I have been unfortunate enough to have to communicate with you, you have left me in no doubt that I know nothing & that you know everything & are always right. I just could not believe that any code you posted could have anything wrong with it (especially when it was duplicated through bad programming practice), so I assumed the faults were there as an exercise for anyone wanting to use the code.
>

Wrong - I ripped some code which sits in a proc lib I use out and posted it - then decided to modify it for more general use. I left quotes out in a couple spots where I changed VARTYPE() to TYPE(), and left off the t parameter prefix that I added. Mea culpa, mea culpa. I made a boo-boo. I must atone for committing such a disgusting, inhuman offense against man and nature...whip me, beat me, make me write COBOL!

It might have occurred to you that fixing the code would have been a considerate thing to do; I did fix it (not to check for paths embedded in the file name parameter, but identifying my gross negligence or the hidden evil agenda behind my posts took priority. I wouldn't dream of taxing your incisive wit with the difficult task of furnishing a fixed piece of code, or even significantly improved code to help people solve the problem. Obviously, criticizing and attributing sloppy errors to a sinister plot to destroy the entire VFP community had vastly greater value to the rest of UT.

>What I was pointing out was that it was an incredibly bad piece of code because it could, unintentionally of course, cause serious problems if it was used to check a filename which had a downward relative path. I felt that anyone using a bit of code, which must be good because it came from the great Ed Rauh, who is never wrong, should take a little care.

Do yourself an immense favor - just add me to your twit list. You won't be troubled by the poor code, bad attitude, vast, pompous displays of ignorance and vulgarity, and it will probably make the UT appear more civil. You really won't miss my rantings; I certainly will survive without your content...

>I know you don't get your jollies from intentionally causing people grief, you're too busy getting them from trying to convince people that you are brilliant. If that was a sample of your coding skills, then I think you should seriously thinking about reviewing your own abilities.

Not all of us can reach your level - He/O2 breathing mixture costs too much...
