>>I wouldn't say Rep's want to corrupt the process, but they sure are trying to spin things around. The most transparent claim right now is that Rep's believe that the democrats have full control of the manual recount process and in some way they will be biased to giving Gore the victory. They have representatives wherever this recounts are going on and the whole process is open to the public, even being televised. That contention is ludicrous IMO.

>Let's see... Two unbiased mechanical counts gave Bush the state. Two more manual counts didn't change that outcome. Now, it seems, the approach is to repeat manual counting, with all its attendent susceptibility to abuse and fraud (are you suprised to see so many addition chad lying around after a 'recount'?), until the outcome is the one you want. Oh, and we want 'every vote counted' unless, of course, they are overseas military ballots.
>How fair is that?

FWIW, I think Gore is slowly seeing his chances vaporize. I did not made any comments to the fairness of the process, only to the arguments being thrown around. What bothers me is that both sides must think Jane & Joe Doe will believe everything they are told. From where I see it the smell comes from both sides.

Hopefully the Florida supreme court will give the situation due process and get this over with ASAP.
