>I am considering purchasing a simplified accounting module (with coding) written in VFP5. I need AR, AP, Cash book and GL with all the financial reporting. If the module fits all my requirement and the price is right, I will buy it instead of develop it.

Tai,

Someone who asks for 'simplified accounting' usually asks for more, once the product is delivered. Therefore, I would highly recommend purchasing a customizable product.

I know of 2 FP products that provide (mostly) complete source code and have illustrated some reliability (although neither is perfect).

Visaul Accountmate was recently endorsed by MS and there are a few at UT that have used it. My understanding is that it is still in relative infancy and has some bug problems, although I don't think they are significant.

SBT Accounting Systems Series 3.0i is still in 2.6, but is slated for upgrade to VFP 5.0 for Q4 this year. It's been around for a while and the GL/AP/AR combo is very stong. (I'm not sure what you mean by cash book.) SBT has had trouble recently by spreading itself a little thin, but for the most part, it's a great product, currently being used by AT&T among others.

Neither is cheap, but prob. both worth the expense. Both are cheaper than the real cost of developing something from scratch.

HTH
