>I have taken the plunge with a new computer and office 2000. Everything seems to be going OK so far, but I am getting a message when automating Outlook 2000.
>I never received this message in Outlook 97, but it seems that when my scheduled task runs that will check for any new web registrations. Outlook will inform we that a 'Program is trying to access email address...' and ask me if I want to allow the program to do this and if so do I want to put a time limit on it. I will indicate 'Yes' then another message will come up telling me 'A program is trying to automatically email...' and ask me if I want to allow this.

If not I can live with just turning the messages off. Does anyone know what in Outlook I need to look to change the options on the above messages.

I found the answer problem and this is a warning to all who do outlook automation. The Outlook Email Security Update that was released June 7, 2000 (KB Q262701) stops all use of outlook by external programs unless the user authorizes it with the messages I discribe above. Once installed I have not found a way to uninstall it and there does not seem to be a work around (because all viruses would use it if there was I guess). Look at the Knowledge base article I reference above at Microsoft if you want to find out any more on this. Right now I am doing a reinstall of MS Office 2000 and I hope that will get rid of the update.
