You can override that in the registry though.

Tried it a long while ago and resulted in an almost instant blow up of the whole COM+ system <s>... very entertaining.

It always cracks me up to see this. Object pooling is most useful for resource hogs like VFP and VB yet it doesn't work for those that need it most <s>. Instead it works with lightweight free threaded C++ objects. Go figure <s>...

.Net languages gets all of that though as part of the CLR implementation.
