Walter,
In the actual app the primary application is compiled as exe, but the secondary app contains critical data needed in the main application. The real application opens about 55 tables not just one. Isolating the data in the app file makes updating the main exe much easier, since the data app is very large (284MB). Including the data tables in an encrypted app file is (WAS) a easy way to protect the data from unwanted user manipulation. (NOTE: all of the data is read only).
It does seem to have something to do with two different app/exe files. There is no difference in compiling as app vs. exe however.
Anybody have a clue why this doesn't work in VFP but worked fine in FP2.6?
>Strange story. It should work though. Have you checked if there is no typo in this. Maybe it has to do with handling two different app files. Is there any partical reason to use apps instead of exe and using two application files instead of one ?
