Interfacing OLAP Services with Visual FoxPro

This session introduces OLAP to the Visual FoxPro developer. We’ll begin the discussion with an overview of OLAP and the necessity for a data warehouse. The discussion will then lead to Data Transformation Services, which is Microsoft's implementation of an extract, transform, and load utility. We then review the steps necessary to build cubes; multi-dimensional data stores that facilitate querying of a data warehouse. We will also include an introduction to PivotTable services and Multi Dimensional Expressions, the query language of cubes.
