Tamar;
One noticeable improvement in the 20th Century is the life expectancy of women in the United States. Until the late 1800's men lived longer than women in this country. The arguement that one sex lives longer than another (women) was being argued for some time. After studies were completed viewing lives of religious men and women for several hundred years it was decided that women do in fact live longer then men. If you look at how hard life was for a women in this country prior to the 20th Century, it is understandable why women did not live as long. We may complain today about how hard life is but somehow I would not want to turn back the clock.
