Chris,

>>Essentially, from what I have seen of many liberal ideas this is essentially true. That is, that liberalism is totally intolerant of views other than its own. For example, try speaking at a liberal college if you're a conservative. They will try and run you out of town. Try saying something that is politically incorrect. Heh.. Try speaking at a Democratic convention (Gov. Ridge? of Penn.?) if you don't hew the party line. If you cannot see this; well you cannot see this.

>Do you really think this does not happen at Republican conventions? While things certainly were different at this year's convention, ask Lynn Grefe of the Republican Pro-Choice Coalition what she thought of the 1996 convention. Well, here is what she thought:

Well, I seem to recall that the Republicans had some folks on stage who had severely criticized them or differed in opinion with them over some substantial issues. I'm sorry I don't recall who right now but I must admit I was impressed by this willingness to open things up. I seem to recall that it was someone who was quite strongly in favor of abortion rights.

Do both parties want to spin things? Sure they do. However Chris, and let me be clear here, while I wouldn't condone this kind of behavior in either party I do see the liberals more willing to do this. I just think that they are further along the existentialst road and it sure ain't Kansas. <g>
