>I would like to start experimenting with web-based presentations for the Wednesday Night Lectures. Ideally I could display my (or a speaker's) face and also powerpoint or the VFP IDE in another window. Ideally people watching would just user a brower to follow along... but having them download some conferencing software wouldn't be a big deal.

Netmeeting does allow for this but on the scale you are talking about, you would need a Netmeeting Server. People would have to connect to the server (or your computer/laptop) and then everything you do would be visible to the them. You do have the option of throwing the software into privacy mode to do things like navigate your PC via Explorer while people are still connected.
