I agree that they blew it morally and image-wise by trying to influence the canvassing boards to be very strict on the overseas ballots.

Yes, the Gore campaign asked for a recount in Miami-Date and the canvassing board agreed to do one. Since then the board has decided not to recount, has decided to recount, has decided to recount only the under-voted ballots, and finally has decided that at this point in time it is not physically possible to do a recount by Sunday 5pm. That is the simple truth.

The Gore team got what they wanted from the Florida Supreme Court. They should be counting their blessings rather than attacking their friends.

I am not disgusted by the Bush team asking the US Supreme Court to stop the manual recounts. The emotion is more like incredulity mixed with pity.
