I have "replace" the fox icon with my icon successfully when I view it from explorer. However, if I view the property of my EXE, the fox icon come back again. Why?

Two things you need to check for.
1.An icon that contains the same pictures in two format (16x16 and 32x32)(use microangelo from www.download.com)

2. For icons you can only use 16 colors not 256.
