Hi,

I have a program that merges a table to a central database. Each record in the table is compared with records in the central table, if there is a change or if it is new, then the changes are applied (using scatter/gather). There are quite a few records in the table that gets merged.


The problem that I am having, is somewhere in the Scan (when each record is searched and checked for changes), the program locks up. If I step through the scan for 20 or so records, everything works fine. If I then resume the program, it continues processing each record, but after a while it locks up.

I've read somewhere that with 10,000 records or more, a SCAN can cause problems. And the table has anywhere from 30,000 - 50,000 records. However, this program has been working smoothly for 2 years now. This is the first time this has happened.

I know this is kind of general, but I would like to know if anyone has any suggestions on what the problem could be.
