You're ahead of your time. I was reading an article this weekend in XML magazine that talks about SQL 2000 allowing this. You will setup a web virtual directory and send queries to it via HTTP. What you'll get back is an XML "recordset." Of course, we'll have to wait to see if it really works or not.
