>I have been looking at the palm and handspring sites for a while now. I have read every ZDNET and CNET review as well as comments posted by buyers of these products. I had owned a handspring but returned it cuz a software package did not sync w/ handhelds. Now they do.

Don't feel you have to spend a lot of money to get a good device. I own the low end PalmIIIe with 2megs of memory. I track appointments, have little databases, surf then net and have even went into a chat room a few times with it. With all of those programs I still have over 1 meg left. Some people at work have M100's which is the current low end Palm. It has a groovy form factor. The only problem with both of these devices is that the OS is not upgradeable. On the rest of the Palms and everything but the low end Handspring are OS upgradeable.

If you really want bells and whistles, I would go for the Pocket PC (www.pocketpc.com).
