For WinNT

Go to a folder with explorer
Go to the menu View/Options...
Select the TAB File Types
Then Search for the .prg file
Click the Edit... button.
Select Open
Set it as default if this is not already done. (for the default item the font is bold)
Hit the Edit... Button
And under Application to perform action: you can place the following:
C:\WINNT\system32\NOTEPAD.EXE
Then hit OK, Close and Close and you're done.
