When you don't expect usage of UNC (like '\\CompName\ShareName\...) and don't expect file names with multiple extensions (like FileName.FileName.FileName.Ext), JustExt function works like a charm. I afrain this function just forwards call to Windows API funtions, so I doubt API will help here.

If you really need such reliability, I can just now write simple algorithms for these functions using VFP code. Probably you can do this too ;))
