Most of us who support products/clients have encoutered a product working everywhere except a random quirky machine where something doesn't work right (with all reasonable efforts exhausted and no solution in site).

It sounds like you've done your job. Put the onus on them.

Sweep the machine. (Pull a Freeman?)
