We are trying to use remote views to access FoxPro 2.6 tables in a VFP 6 application.

We have found that updating our views causes some problems that are not typical VFP problems. For example: if we add a new record to one of our remote views that includes date fields and we set those dates to be blank in the VFP 6 app then the TableUpdate() fails! We have to specify a date (different from {}) to have the update work.

I wonder if somebody else has used FoxPro 2.6 tables through the ODBC driver in a VFP application and what your experiences has been.

Is it a viable alternative?
Is it even a good idea to do this?
Are there any updates to the ODBC driver that addresses those problems?
