I've started a thread (#446928) in the Database/SQL Category talking about the finer points of using Remote View vs. Stored Procedures vs. SQL Pass Through code.

However, now that I've gotten some verrry good information, I have to ask: Is Mere Mortals set up to use only remote views? As far as I can tell... yes. All the builders/components, etc seem to point to v_view. However, maybe it's possible in code to create a rv_view... and then the component can access that?? However, if that is possible, people were suggesting that being able to UPDATE the view is another beast in itself if you don't use remove views.

What are all my options using MM & SQL? Any help would be appreciated.
