>Well, I do usual vote republican but, I thought this time GW Bush lacked experience. However, this election is teaching me that one's "character" (if there is such a thing in politics... <g>) is more important then experience. An inexperience president can always surround hmself with good, experienced people to help him.

Makes sense...I don't like the way Bush has handled himself at all since Nov 7, he sure as heck doesn't inspire presidential confidence to me. This has been his first presidential test, and he's been crappy (IMO). However, the "shadow president" will be Dick Cheney - and this mild-mannered guy really does inspire confidence. He's bright, knowledgable, witty, articulate (hear that, George W! :) I suspect he will be running most things behind the public scene, at least for a good while.

After seeing Cheney doing all the media interface work and transition setup here in the DC area the past few days while Bush is kept hidden away in Texas, I'm feeling a lot better about things...
The Anonymous Bureaucrat,
and frankly, quite content not to be
a member of either major US political party.
