If your comfortable with OOP programming in VFP you'll have no problem with JAVA. Like VFP, its a lot like C++ without manual garbadge collection, multiple inheritance and some of the other nasty stuff that made C++ so difficult. I spent a little time working with it and really liked the language, but the performance and especially the IDE's left a lot to be desired. I'd get a book and start learning C# and forget about JAVA.
