What is happening here ?

1) I have a form where the ControlSource of controls are fields of a buffered view (BufferMode = 5).
2) The corresponding base table is also buffered (BufferMode = 5).
3) The base table is related to a reference table (BufferMode = 0) through a foreign key.
4) As we navigate in the base table I expected that the reference table would
be moving to the correct record, but that doesn't happen: the reference table just stays in the first record.

I tried relating the view directly to the reference table instead of relating the base table to the reference table, but it did no better.

What is the correct way of obtaining the desired result ?
