Steve it is possible to use DCOMCNFG. This is a difficult thing to setup. Once it it set up it works well. IF you have the MSDN lookup Remote Automation. There is a description there of what is involved. Autmgr32.exe and RACMGR32.EXE come into play.
VFP is equipped with CreateObjectEx which allows you to create and run a server.exe on a remote computer. This also requires DCOM95 or later.
