I must provide a VB interface (I am a VFP programmer since 4-5 years, I think it would be easier or faster in VFP) because they want to automatize the whole process. Once it has been loaded in Oracle, VB simply call an Oracle stored procedure that begins all the extractions/transformations needed.

SQL Loader runs at the OS level [DOS utility]. Yes you could call it like any other DOS command. I have VFP code that will create the data text file, and the SQL Loader control and paramter files. The loader is by far a faster way to transfer large amounts of data to Oracle.
