>How do you mean?

Give the man some respect, on both sides, Republican and Democratic protesters. I would not approve of anyone protesting at a Republican's private residence, nor a Democrat's, or even a Libertarians. *g*

If not respect for him, then at least his family. And if not that, at least his religion.

>Kind on interesting to hear that Democrates yelled "respect the sabbath" when this morning at 9 A.M.... the Christian Sabbath.... their side will be IN COURT pleading their case.

>Hummmm... a really strange kind of logic at work! < s >

It is my understanding that Lieberman is an Orthodox Jew who does not do any work on the sabbath. If Democrats or Republicans want to work on Sunday, that is their business. If an Orthodox Jew does not want to work on the sabbath, that is his busines, and I think deserves respect.

The only thing I found funny was the Democrats making matter worse. I get this picture of Republicans yelling, Democrats yelling at them for yelling, and so on. In a word, hypocrisy.

>I wonder....Did Lieberman ask that the court case not be tried on Saturday out of respect for his orthodox beliefs? Wait... Wait... you can try a court case but you just can not exercise your first ammendment rights of freedom of speech.

>I wonder... Did Lieberman, out of respect for his running mates Christian beliefs, ask Gore to insist that there be no trial on Sunday?

I doubt he did. It is my understanding that he is a firm practitioner of his faith, but I doubt he would force his beliefs down someone else's throat. And with every right, comes responsibility. Fine, you don't like it, protest in front of Congress, the White House, the Dade County courthouse, but not in front of his private residence. Just common decency.

And that was my point on neither side having the moral high ground.

>Using the anti-semitic card here is a total horror. What a joke.

I agree, I don't think this was anti-semitic. Just ignorance. And I detest playing the anti-semitic card just as much as playing the race card. But when anyone there learned it was the sabbath, something Lieberman respects, they just should have walked away.
