I took a quick look at the KB, didn't see anything jump out at me. A search on that error code only returned 5 links.

Has the component been registered on the server? What type of server are you running, NT or Win2K? The only article that looked remotely close was talking about the COM component using arrays of user defined types (UDTs), running on Win2K. Are you doing this?
