If the ActiveDesktop is installed you can use the Shell.Application scriptable object. See my article in the July, 2000 VFUG newsletter for further details.

If the ActiveDesktop isn't installed, MS KB article Q151799 might be of some help. I don't know, however, whether or not this will work. The article demonstrates how to do this in VB, and I haven't taken the time to try to translate it.
