Thanks for your help. I installed the update as instructed. My exe instantiated at the client machine...this is an improvement. I noticed the two problems below, however:

1. At the client side, I get an error 'Operator/operand type mismatch' when my application adds a record into any of my tables and I could only Cancel or Ignore. Unfortuantely, this kind of error is not trapped by VMP so that at the client computer I can't tell what actually went wrong. I am using the standard VMP stored procedure. Any idea, please?
2. At my development machine I tried to access Stonefield Database Explorer after I ran the 5.1 patch but it failed and I got the error message below:
Error #: 1098
Message: 58da8d8f-9d6a-101b-afco-4210102a8da7 is not properly registered on this computer.

Wasn't instupd.app supposed to register this automatically? Is there anything else that I needed to do? I will restart my computer and rerun instupd.app and I will let you know if problem #2 gets resolved.
