For those who have followed this thread, I've created two "work arounds" for the problem (read BUG) of accessing tables opened in another VFP application.
1. Opening Views for each table and basing the SQL statement on the view works. For whatever reason, views are "seen" by other VFP apps while tables are not. Of course this means having twice as many work areas open...
2. Having the "data" application run the actual query works. I can setup the data application to take a SQL statement as a parameter and execute it via macro expansion. Of course, this solution means a massive re-write to change all of the SELECT SQL statements to a call to the data app.
I'm not sure which way I'm leaning yet. If anyone has a recommendation, let me know
