Part 3s really has a handful of stuff, but we'll count it as 1 :-)

In VFP7 the new IDE enhancements like Intellisense, Breakpoints, Bookmarks, Tasks, and the Document Viewer are all well known, thats why I'm not gonna tell you about them. Intead, the IDE enhancements you might not know about (which is after all my goal here).

Inside an editor window you now have the ability to embed hyperlinks, display whitespace, and customize the indentation and tab settings. These can be set in the Properties window (right-clicking and choosing properties in an edit window). Indentation Options include the size of an indent, the size of a tab, and wether you should keep the tab, or insert "n" number of spaces instead. Another "addition" to that Dialog is that the "Show Line/Column position" checkbox now remembers in the FoxUser file what its supposed to be.

In the Format menu, along with the commenting and indenting of a block of code, you can now Upper case or Lower case all the highlighted code. Word Wrap and White Space Toggling is also apart of that menu.

The Properties Dialog is also recreated on a new tab called "IDE" in the Options Dialog too. In addition to the existing options there, you can choose via a combo box what type of files are affected by your changes (for example a program or a text file). You can also specify the file extensions for the types and wether or not these settings will overwrite the individual settings in the resource file.

A "type" for desktop is available where you can easily set the font for the VFP Screen. You can also specify the appearance of Memo types in this dialog, or by right clicking in a Memo window. That means you can have your memo field with a courier font and Syntax coloring right from the browse screen (SFReports.DOQuery got set in an instant :-).

Hope that hold you over for today.
