Yes, I know.... and I have hard-coded an import or two into a previous application. The trouble is the end-users; they want to be able to import from all sorts of data sources. So, even in the simple ASCII delimited case, we have to create a field mapping for every import "script" or "template". Importing is easy - except when you want to make it generic in a shipped exe.
