To use your example, what is Napster written in? Does anyone care? I think if it was written in VFP, the only people would care are people who already think VFP is great and love to see it referenced in the "real world".

The Chunnel is run on Fox. I think Egghead used to be. No one cared but us.

I would love to see VFP become more popular, but I have to agree with JVP on this one. There isn't enough of us to make a difference.

>I agree that we as a small group (maybe a 1000 active UT members) can't market to the general public in the normal sense. But if there was a VFP napster (or any app that had the general public interest) it would bring VFP to the fore front. I'm not sure what that app might be - but I'm sure that such an app would cause a revitalization of VFP. I suggested earlier business accounting might be that app. It not to difficult to write accounting packages. And I'm sure most of the UT members had to write something that interfaces to SBT,AccountMate, or IAS and likely wrote accounting code. If only there was a group willing to spearhead this effort - I know I would help. Whatever the app it must help the general VFP Community.

>Let it be known I'm not in love with VFP. I don't hate VB, C#, or JAVA. It just seems that we have a lot invested in VFP and it might be worth the effort to save it. In my office we have started looking at JAVA and creating small applets. So you see we think VFP is in trouble. But when a project is started we still turn to VFP because of many features.
