I can't give you any ammunition to argue against using a framework. Because a framework provides a consistency to every thing which makes maintenance and development much smoother and easier (once you know the framework).

That said, in my opinion, a framework that disallows you from using your own classes within the context of that framework is not a very good one. I don't know that Promatrix does this and I would be very surprised if it did. I would expect that you can use Promatrix AND your classes both and get the advantages of the Promatrix framework and the use of your custom classes. Of cours you may need to modify your classes to work within the framework.
