I did have this same problem. I finally copied the files that i needed to the local server. However, I am interested to see if you can make it work. Have you tried accessing the database through its UNC ie. \\server\share\whatever.dbf instead of a mapped drive letter in the ODBC administrator?

Another possible work around, if you cannot copy the databases, is to try to access the table through a VFP COM server. If you need help trying the COM server, visit http://www.west-wind.com/articles.asp. Or I can post some code.
