I've seen people prefix their field names with a 2 letter identifier for the app, 2 letters for the table name, and 1 for the type. After you finally want to name a field, you've wasted half the available space! IAC, I don't think ANY naming conventions in fields are a good idea.

Btw, If you can, look for a FoxTalk arcitle called "A cRose by any oName" by Charlie Schreiner where he makes some good arguements that all naming conventions are not needed.
