x-cuse me for jumping in John. But can I ask why you are going from vb to vfp? I heard that MS has made it the "mandate" to do just the opposite. That's what's got everyone "frightened" about jumping to VB. No matter how much it doesn't match up to Vfp.

Mandate? Msft issued no steenking mandate!!
That Msft would like everybody to jump into the VB bandwagon so they can sell more SQL Server licenses is another story.
I still maintain that you should use the best tool for the job at hand. So being knowledgeable in more than one tool is always good.
