I can say it, from personal experience. The tests we ran on tables from 500K to 2 mil records performed retrieval of data on the order of 10+ times faster than SQL server.

What is more, the SQL syntax for SQL 7/2000 is not as functional as that contained in VFP 6.0


For instance. Create a query from a table and retrieve all elements of that record, numeric, date, datetime, character, memo, etc, and SCATTER it to a single array in which the data from the record and the data in the array are exactly in the same format.

VPF will do it with its simple SELECT statement Into ARRAY myarray

try it with SQL server (or any other one for that matter)
