Now, Now, Michel. . .
>I can surely understand why. It seems to be related to a browser bug. This is something I don't have here. I remember it was reported by one person 2 months ago. What browser do you use?
>
I *asked* about this "feature" a coupla months back and the answer provided, AND GENERAL CONCENSUS, was that 'that's the way it works and we simply have to live with it'. It was noted as the "behaviour" in both MSIE and NetScape by those who responded.

It *IS* unnatural (at least in lots of people's opinions) and now you report that you don't have this "problem".

This bugs me enough that I would be willing to track/try any suggested setting to change this behaviour. If you or anyone else has some suggestions for MSIE settings, I will happily give them a go!

Thanks in advance,
Jim N

PS I put my responses towards the front because I believe that more people (including me) prefer it that way to the other. BUT I wouldn't dream of MAKING everyone do it one way or the other!

You could, for example, make the division between upper and lower halves of the screen into a splitter, that is, make it adjustable. You could, e.g., make the map into a frame which is on the left of the msg window, for those with the space to do so (I use 1024 and there is lots of room to put a message thread map on the left or right of the message).
