Mark;

I was stationed at Goodfellow Air Force Base at San Angelo, Texas. One Spring day in April of 1966, my wife and I decided to do something to enjoy the afternoon. I suggested a walk to the nearest ice cream shop about 4 miles distance. I remember I had on a short sleeved shirt and was comfortable in the 90-degree heat. Before reaching the ice cream shop it seemed the temperature had cooled off noticeably. After enjoying our treat at the shop, we began our trip back to the house. It was really cold by the time we got back. . The local bank thermometer was in the 20’s as we passed it. I turned on the news and they said a cold front came through which caused the 90-degree temperature to drop to 10 degrees within four hours. All that for some ice cream. It is great to be young.

We complain in San Francisco if it gets below 50. Many people are suprised to come here in the summer on a foggy day when it is 68 in the City, dressed in shorts. Be prepared is all that I can suggest.

Tom
