Thanks for the information. I remember talking to you and Steve in Miami about his illness. I'm glad to hear the recovery is still moving along.

>Yes, it is a lot better now even though my husband's recovery is not yet complete. He tends to run out of steam after a half day, but that's better than not having any steam at all!
>
>It was a very bad experience that came from a massive infection (necrotizing fasciitis - see http://www.nnff.org/) caused by a little cut that wasn't properly cleaned and bandaged. The cost of not taking proper care of the cut was nearly two weeks on a respirator in intensive care, 3 surgeries, 4 hospitalizations, 3 bouts of pneumonia, several months of home care nursing, and some very nasty scarring. IOW, it was a very bad hit all the way around.

>Steve (my husband) is very glad to be alive. He came within hours of not making it. We are told that he's going to make a full recovery, but that all of his strength won't return for several more months.
>
>I'm disappointed that all this happened, but even if I had known the book contract would wind up canceled I still would have chosen to care for Steve instead of meeting the schedule.
>
>Things happen. Whil didn't have a lot of choices. He was patient for many months.

>While I do have a premium membership here, I tend to spend more of my time in CompuServe's MSDevApps forum. I hadn't posted information here about the book schedule slippage and the events that caused it. I apologize for that.
>
>I do have new plans in place to finish the book, and expect to finalize arrangements for its publication in the next few weeks. I'll post an announcement on the UT when the arrangements are complete.
