I've looked at the file section and didn't find anything I liked. Some require a project to search, some have no source code, they all seemed to have a UI which I don't want. I want something that will run silently and quickly and be totally free to use as I want. I'd also prefer not to have to install anything (as in DLLs and such, not just copying a file).

Did I miss one like that?

Are you aware that there are about half a dozen search utilities in the Files Section - the best one (in my opinion) for searching inside the VFP development environment is Erik Moore's (in the VFP General section I think). There is one in the Project section that implements Regular Expressions - if you are into rocket science ;-)
