It probably does not have rights to access the directories on the remote machine. When ASP acts on something it uses the IUSR_MachineName account. By default, this account is given limited rights on an NT system. Go into the remote directory and grant the appropriate rights and see i that takes care of it.

NOTE This may open some security holes so be sure to only grant rights to the minimum that is needed.
