From my end in Los Angeles, it has nothing to do with being in a limited job market. Here, people say "ohh you worked with foxpro. ohhh great. But tell me about the VB, Java, SQL Server, Oracle....etc. apps you've worked on.

4 yrs ago, when I would send my resume out, recruiters would say "You've got a great resume, I can surely get you something". 3 yrs ago it quickly changed to "Anything foxpro related is typically to convert a fox system to VB". Now corporations in the LA area using fox has dwindled to a trickle.

Bill Anderson, who shows up here every once in a while, sent me a note about a couple people being at the LA fox users group looking to hire people. But these companies are typically smaller firms with a vertical market package. I do not want to be stuck at a smaller firm with no learning opportunities.
