On a vanilla server, I installed NT4 and MSDE. Then I went to a running MSSQL7 server and copied isql.exe (and it's depedent dll) and installed MSMQ. Without the isql.exe tool in the ...\binn\ directory, MSMQ can't tell the master database to grow to 25,600k.

Anyway, I installed MSMQ and MSDE and applied NT-SP6a and MSSQL7-SP2 and MSMQ refuses to start. It gives the error:

Source MSMQ 2076 Can't initialize the logger. Category:Kernel


Any ideas why it wouldn't start or install?




>You should have no problem. I know that the MSMQ 1.0 install looks for SQL 6.5, but I think you can just point it at SQL 7 and it will work.
